Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Josh Gordon revealed some shocking details about his addiction to drugs in this fascinating piece…
Josh Gordon was seemingly one of the luckiest players in the NFL.
For the wealth of talent he was given, Gordon had more than a few second chances after getting booted out of multiple collegiate football programs and still being drafted in the second round of the NFL’s supplemental draft by the Cleveland Browns.
Numerous failed drug tests in the NFL and opportunities by the Browns to come back with a Pro Bowl season and year as the NFL’s receiving yards leader sprinkled in all culminated in essentially a ban from the league for Gordon.
That ban, however, was self-imposed.
Gordon decided earlier this year to check himself into rehab, where he has been working hard to eliminate his addiction to drugs, which took him to a very scary place.
In this revealing piece with Uninterrupted, Gordon reveals many shocking details about his use of drugs off the field, how it was covered up in college, and what he’s now doing in hopes of getting his life back on track.

This video isn’t an apology by Gordon, but an explanation of the difficulty — which some may or may not understand — of his addiction. There were obviously elements of this that involved Gordon simply being immature, and he admits that. He also admits that public scrutiny drove him to the point where he was resigned to simply be the persona he was portrayed as by media and fans.
This is merely a 13 minute look, but Gordon — at the time this video was shot — was 70 days into rehab and sounds like a changed person. He talks about not having seen his daughter since she was born, and not remembering the last time he saw his father.
He recounts the many times he used — and abused — drugs, and talked about how his failed drug tests were covered up by coaches at Baylor, which may be the most shocking yet unsurprising revelation of this entire piece.
Gordon discusses how he was given a detox drink to cover up his marijuana use so he could pass drug tests, and that the way he was treated by Baylor coaches in that regard essentially promoted his behavior and gave him a feeling of invincibility…until he ran out of detox drinks.
Gordon seems to realize he has no one to blame for his situation but himself, but he’s moving forward and the title of the video says it all —
He’s ready for a comeback.
