New York Giants: Odell Beckham Jr. done for the 2017 season
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is done for the season after having surgery to repair his fractured ankle…
The New York Giants’ 2017 season is already off to a disastrous start, but the last thing they needed after Sunday’s game against the Chargers was a season-ending injury to their superstar, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Beckham was carted off the field in a loss to the previously winless Los Angeles Chargers, leaving the Giants as one of the league’s few 0-5 squads.
The loss of Beckham was injury to insult.
If you have a soft stomach, don’t press play on this video of the play where Beckham was hurt:
As if the Giants’ offense could get more one-dimensional, the loss of Beckham Jr. for the season is probably the last critical blow this team could have possibly endured. He is their best weapon on offense, and with virtually no running game to speak of, it will be interesting to see what kind of offense Ben McAdoo and company put forth from this point forward.
The Giants are so desperate at the wide receiver position, they promoted Travis Rudolph from the practice squad and are apparently expected to re-sign Tavarres King, someone who knows the offense and could potentially help in a pinch.

The loss of Beckham was not the extent of the Giants’ woes at the position on Sunday, as Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall were also lost due to ankle injuries.
This is a team that already has a really bad offensive line, and a really poor group of running backs to support Eli Manning, who is struggling badly this season as a result.
Not that this injury will have anything to do with it in the grand scheme of things, but this Giants team is so bad it’s probably going to cost Ben McAdoo his job.
What will happen, then, with Eli Manning? Will the Giants move on after this year, or keep pressing forward?
This injury and the fallout on the field from here on out could prove to be the last straw for many involved in the decision making process for the Giants.
