I have to admit, I’ve been one of the biggest doubters of Luke Falk among the NFL Draft community, simply based on the fact that he’s playing in Mike Leach’s offense and the numbers he puts up are greatly inflated.

While that is definitely true to a certain extent, there’s no denying Falk has what it takes to play the quarterback position at the next level, and this game is proof of that.

Combining with an excellent performance by the Washington State defense, Falk and company put together probably the most impressive and important home victory they have had in a long, long time.

Throwing 51 passes is never ideal — in my opinion — but with Washington State, the short passing game is essentially just an extension of their running game. Those types of numbers don’t put me off when it comes to Falk, because you see in this game just how cool this guy can be in a pressure-filled situation.

He’s making throws to the sideline, deep downfield, and allowing his receivers to make plays after the catch. You get a chance to see his escape ability, and there definitely aren’t many quarterbacks in college football who are better from the pocket than this guy.

Falk is fourth in college football through five games in completion percentage (74.5) and has 16 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions all year.

This guy is gaining some NFL attention after a big win vs. USC.
