Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, the top pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, has returned to practice and has a chance to play this weekend…

After not having seen him on the field for such a prolonged amount of time, it’s easy to forget that the Cleveland Browns have yet to see their top pick — defensive end Myles Garrett — in action.

He has returned to practice, and could play this weekend.

Suffering a high ankle sprain in the preseason, Garrett likely won’t play full-time snaps in his season debut if he makes it this weekend. The Browns play at home this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals, and someone is going to get in the win column (unless there’s a tie).

Garrett would obviously help the Browns’ cause.

Being at practice on a Thursday is not a guarantee that Garrett will play, but he has been doing limited work off to the side at practices and likely has been at least somewhat included in the game plan installation, which happens earlier in the week.

In all likelihood, the Browns would only ask Garrett to come out and play about 35-50 percent of the defensive snaps in this game, as much as people would probably like to see him play a full game. He is going to need some time to work his way back into the fold, especially with an injury as unpredictable as a high ankle sprain.

Unfortunately, the news is not so good for fellow defensive stud Jamie Collins, who remains out of practices with a concussion. The Browns have talent on that side of the ball, but have yet to see it all on the field in a regular season game.

Hopefully this weekend, we’ll at least get to see the type of impact this year’s top overall pick is capable of making, even if it is on a limited snap count.
