Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens: 5 Things to Watch
By Andrew Kim
Will Isaiah Crowell and the Browns run game get going against the Ravens defensive tackles?
After rushing for only 33 yards and running 17 times, week 1 was a disappointing performance against the Steelers by Isaiah Crowell. Although the Steelers do have a decent run defense, the rushing yards by Crowell was pretty telling, even as the featured back Crowell did not run well behind their offensive line. After the slow start to the run game, Crowell is looking to bounce back against one of the best run-stopping defensive tackle duos in Brandon Williams and Michael Pierce.
The Ravens held the Bengals running back trio to only 75 total rushing yards and are looking to do the same with Isaiah Crowell.
Running the ball on the Ravens should be a tough task with two stud defensive tackles in Brandon Williams and Michael Pierce. While both aren’t known for rushing the passer, Michael Pierce recorded a sack, and Brandon Williams had three pressures on Andy Dalton in week 1. According to Pro Football Focus, both of them were in the top 5 defensive tackles for week 1. The Browns run blocking has to be better on the offensive line if they want Crowell to get the run game going in week 2.
