5. Debut Of Dalvin Cook

He entered this year’s draft process as one of the top talents in the entire draft. Thanks to a few pre-draft whispers, former Florida State running back Dalvin Cook dropped all the way to 41st overall where the Vikings so kindly selected him.

Cook ran for 4,644 yards at FSU in three seasons and his ability to score at any given moment is the reason why Minnesota will feature him heavily in an offense that needs a punch.

The New Orleans Saints were a respectable 14th against the run last season, allowing only 4.1 yards per carry and only 101.6 rushing yards per game. However, this year, they will be without a key defender against the run in defensive tackle Nick Fairley. The playmaking ability of Cook goes with very little notice.  His presence can truly help a Vikings run game that was 32nd in the league last year averaging an awful 75.3 yards per game. He is lightning in a bottle and the Saints may have their hands full.
