Chiefs injury update: Eric Berry suffers potential season-ending injury
Andy Reid’s Chiefs injury update after the game has fans crestfallen
Overshadowing a 42-27 win against the reigning Super Bowl champion New England Patriots was the Kansas City Chiefs injury update after the game.
Head coach Andy Reid says the team fears veteran safety Eric Berry suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon against New England. Further testing conducted in the coming days will try to confirm the diagnosis.
Berry was covering Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on a shallow cross late in the season opener when he pulled up lame. Grabbing his calf many believed it was simply a cramp resulting from limited playing time during the preseason.
NBC’s television broadcast announced the team feared an Achilles injury, which was then verified by Reid after the game.
