Predicting the Pittsburgh Steelers 53-Man Roster
Quarterback
This is by far the easiest position to predict, unless you for some reason believe in Bart Houston.
QB1: Ben Roethlisberger
QB2: Landry Jones
QB3: Joshua Dobbs
P.S: Yes, Landry Jones will, and should be the Steelers backup quarterback.
Offensive Line
The Steelers offensive line is pretty much set. The top-tier group will look very similar to last year.
OT1: Marcus Gilbert
OT1: Alejandro Villanueva
OG1: David Decastro
OG1: Ramon Foster
C1: Maurkice Pouncey
OG2: BJ Finney
OT2: Chris Hubbard
OL3: Jerald Hawkins
OL3: Brian Mihalik
On the Bubble: Matt Feiler, Keavon Milton
Running Backs
This is a tough one.
Kniles Davis certainly hasn’t been what the Steelers are looking for in a dual returner/running back.
Fitzgerald Touissant has gotten more than enough chances and is currently injured, but Tomlin continues to believe.
And to top it all off inexperienced young players like Terrell Watson and Trey Williams have shined in camp and games. But have they shined bright enough?
RB1: Le’Veon Bell
RB2: James Conner
RB3: Fitz Toussaint
FB1: Roosevelt Nix
On the Bubble: Terrell Watson, Trey Williams, Knile Davis
Tight End
What seemed like an easy position to predict, took a turn with good play from undrafted rookie Jake McGee and a trade for Vance McDonald.
TE1: Vance McDonald
TE2: Jesse James
TE3: Xavier Grimble
On the Bubble: David Johnson, Jake McGee
Wide Receiver
Finally, the Steelers most talked about offensive position group is also the hardest to predict.
The Steelers could look to trade one of these receivers before the season or keep up to seven for themselves.
But we can only take the roster the way it is now and with more pressing needs elsewhere expect a maximum of seven.
WR1: Antonio Brown
WR1: Martavis Bryant
WR2: Eli Rogers
WR2: JuJu Smith-Schuster
WR3: Sammie Coates
WR4: Justin Hunter
On the Bubble: Demarcus Ayers, Cobi Hamilton
This has the offense at 26 players. Only 27 to go.
