Former Denver Broncos UDFA Eddie Yarbrough is having a strong camp at defensive end with the Buffalo Bills, ascending up the depth chart…

One year ago, Buffalo Bills defensive end Eddie Yarbrough was competing for a roster spot with the Denver Broncos.

In all reality, he was probably only competing for a spot on the practice squad.

The Denver Broncos’ depth chart was topped by Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware, and they were backed up by Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett. Earning a roster spot at this time a year ago in Denver was borderline impossible.

For Yarbrough, however, it was a chance to get some film out, and show teams what he can do.

After a strong training camp with the Broncos, Yarbrough showed that he had some skill worth developing, but got lost in the numbers game in Denver. In April of 2017, he signed with the Buffalo Bills to try to make a name for himself again.

This time around, he’s made a very strong impression.

Yarbrough’s emergence has given the Bills some nice depth at the defensive end position. He’s caught the eye of veteran Jerry Hughes, who said Yarbrough has been the last player to leave the meeting rooms aside from himself, of course.

The player who says he models his game after Jared Allen for his relentless approach has pretty well cemented himself a roster spot with the Bills for doing the same thing.

Like the cowboy Allen, Yarbrough was ‘relentless’ as a member of the Wyoming Cowboys. He was a three-time All-Conference performer, and is the school’s all-time leader with 39 tackles for loss.

This week, Yarbrough will get a chance to show what he can do in a game situation. According to reports out of Buffalo, he’s been receiving first-team reps with injured players rotating in and out, but he has a chance to secure a spot in the rotation with a productive couple of games in the preseason.
