Tennessee Titans training camp opens this Friday, and one player may be on the sidelines to start the preseason workouts

Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola is recovering from a gunshot wound.

KNWA in Fayetteville, Arkansas is reporting the former Razorbacks starter and Titans lineman is recovering after suffering a minor gunshot wound to his leg.

The Titans acknowledged that they’re aware of Tretola’s injury Sunday afternoon in a statement.

“We are aware of the reports that Sebastian received treatment for a wound when he was grazed by a bullet. He has been released from the hospital and is thankful for only a minor injury.”

Tretola was drafted out of Arkansas with the 193rd pick last year by Tennessee and appeared in one game. This year he’s expected to battle Quinton Spain for the starting left guard position with the departure of Chance Warmack in free agency.

Tennessee will be relying on Tretola to be healthy and ready to make an impact this season with quarterback Marcus Mariota coming off a broken fibula. The former Ducks quarterback has missed time in each of his first two NFL seasons with injuries, and his long-term success hinges on health and availability.

This latest incident isn’t the first for Tretola this offseason following an investigation involving an alleged assault outside of a bar involving Tretola and teammate Tajae Sharpe.

A man is accusing the wide receiver Sharpe of assaulting him while Tretola served as a lookout, while the two Titans have filed a countersuit claiming their actions were of self-defense.

Regardless of how either situation turns out for Tretola, expect the NFL to investigate and potentially punish the second-year guard for violation of the personal conduct policy.
