Johnny Manziel interested another slap in the face to Kaepernick
Colin Kaepernick is still generating zero interest, but Johnny Manziel could soon find himself another NFL gig
If given the opportunity to sign a quarterback with Super Bowl experience or one with a criminal record, you’d think the choice would be clear for NFL teams. Unfortunately for one former star, the NFL’s bad boy Johnny Manziel could be getting another opportunity.
Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick is exiled from the league following his protest of the national anthem.
Jon Machota of the Dallas News says Manziel is generating interest from around the league after speaking with the former Aggie star.
A first round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2014 Manziel has started just eight NFL games over two seasons. The Heisman winner sat out all of 2016 following his release in March of 2016, and has spent more time in a jail cell than on a practice field.

Manziel was indicted by a Dallas grand jury for a misdemeanor assault charge, and is facing a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league substance abuse policy. He’s also been alleged to be involved in several other assault cases, including one in Hawaii.
Additionally, Manziel has been referred to by family and friends as a “druggie.”
Meanwhile, zero interest has evolved lately regarding Colin Kaepernick since his visit to Seattle.
If a team opts to sign Manziel over Kaepernick, the league’s hypocrisy would only be heightened for supporting a player with multiple assaults and drug related incidents over someone such as Kaepernick.
No, neither Kaepernick nor Manziel are anywhere near their former playing selves and should be considered starting NFL quarterbacks from day one. In fact, it makes sense for neither to have a job heading into training camp.
But for a team to say Manziel is a better option than a quarterback that led a team to back to back NFC championship game appearances is making a mockery out of the game and the league.
