2. Eagles trade for DL Timmy Jernigan

I don’t know if the Ravens felt like they wouldn’t be able to extend Timmy Jernigan and just decided to get whatever they could, or if they felt like he wasn’t the type of player that fit their locker room culture.

Whatever the case, the Ravens’ loss is the Philadelphia Eagles’ gain.

Jernigan is a nice pass rushing presence from the interior defensive line, racking up 13 sacks through the first three seasons of his career and starting 15 games this past season.

Despite the fact that they brought in a grown man who still goes by ‘Timmy’, this is one of the better moves of the offseason, in my opinion. And that’s impressive considering Eagles GM Howie Roseman has made quite a few brilliant moves in his time with the team.

What I love most about the move to get Jernigan is the cast surrounding him. He’s got All-Pro Fletcher Cox alongside him, as well as stud edge defender Brandon Graham and Chris Long.

The Eagles now have a guy that can take advantage of the double teams Cox will receive on the inside, and I love that kind of move.
