Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre may not be eligible to play in the NFL, but he could still make a big impact on the field

One year after being inducted into the Football Hall of Fame, quarterback Brett Favre is ready for his next challenge.

During an interview on ESPN Wisconsin, the Packers legend said he would be disappointed if he was never able to contribute to an NFL franchise as either a coach or executive.

Favre has already dipped his toe into the coaching arena at the high school level and appears to have enjoyed the opportunity to work with young athletes.

"“I always thought I would be a good coach, but I didn’t know if I had the effort in me. Well, I did. I’ll tell you what, it was a joy. The competitive spirit came right back. It was obviously different than playing, and so I had a lot of fun.”"

When questioned whether he could join the likes of fellow Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome behind the general manager desk, Favre didn’t rule out a front office job, but clearly, has a preference.

"“I think the competitive spirit would be there. It’s just different because there’s such a business side to it. I don’t know if I would have that in me. Picking good players is always in art — and some do it better than others — and there’s some luck involved and things like that. But, yeah, it’s crossed my mind, just like coaching has.”MADISON, WI – JUNE 24: Bret Favre hits his drive on the second hole during the Celebrity Foursome to benefit the American Family Children’s Hospital held during the second round of the American Family Insurance Championship held at University Ridge Golf Course on June 24, 2017 in Madison, Wisconsin. But before fans start pushing their front office personnel out the door, Favre has one condition regarding his future in the NFL.

"“Right now, I don’t want to miss any of (my daughter) Breleigh’s volleyball career, so I’m really not even thinking about it until that day comes.”"

Breleigh will begin her freshman season for the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles this fall, and after 20 years in the NFL, her father clearly wants to spend time with family before getting back into the game.

Could Favre be a successful coach or executive in the NFL? There’s certainly precedent for Hall of Famers making the jump. Green Bay certainly doesn’t need a quarterbacks coach in the near future, and the head coach position might be locked down for the time being.

It’s hard to imagine Favre joining an organization besides Green Bay, but he’s done it multiple times before. At this point in time, it’s hard to see Favre negotiating any trades or formulating an entire NFL game plan or weekly schedule
