NFL: Steelers cut injured tight end Ladarius Green
Pittsburgh’s major free agent addition is now among the big NFL free agents available on the open market
One year after signing a four-year contract with the Steelers, Ladarius Green is looking for a new home.
Pittsburgh announced they released the injured tight end from his $20 million contract, of which he earned $6 million.
Green played in only six games last year for the Steelers due to injuries, including a concussion late in the year.

Prior to signing with Pittsburgh, the tight end had a breakout season for the then-San Diego Chargers. He caught four touchdowns with 429 receiving yards in his final season with the Chargers, primarily playing behind Antonio Gates.
Former Penn State tight end Jesse James has developed into the starter for Pittsburgh, with David Johnson working behind him.
Expect the Steelers to dip their toe into the free agent market for either an undrafted free agent or veteran who could give Ben Rothlisberger another weapon.
Former Browns veteran Gary Barnidge is on the free agent market. Tim Wright and Larry Donnell are also available for the Steelers if they want a cheaper option.
