Washington Redskins: Does Kirk Cousins have a future in Washington?

More from NFL Mocks

For the second straight season, Cousins will be a member of the Redskins with a franchise tag deal that does not necessarily solidifies his future. It does however provide a lovely amount of change to the tune of $23.9 million dollars.

Cousins tossed for a career-high in yards this past season with 4,917 with 25 touchdowns and earned his first Pro Bowl selection. While he loses a deep threat in DeSean Jackson to free agency, he now has two large receivers in second-year pro Josh Doctson and former Cleveland Brown Terrelle Pryor, who will be counted on along with slot receiver Jamison Crowder and the athletic Jordan Reed at tight end. So Cousins has plenty of options in the passing game.

The rumor mill steady churned in recent months with Cousins being tied to the 49ers, the Broncos, the Chiefs and the Jets at some point this offseason. Even with Cousins playing solidly the past two seasons, it looks as if the two parties are still distant enough in agreeing on a long term solution. If Cousins has another productive season, it is still uncertain that he is in D.C. in 2018.
