31. If the NFL Draft plays out this way, the New York Giants should happily settle for left tackle Ryan Ramczyk (Wisconsin). It’s not often that the best left tackle drops to a team selecting 23rd, but this year’s offensive line class is the weakest in recent memory. The most glaring weakness on the Giants is the offensive line, specifically the tackle position. Incumbent left tackle Ereck Flowers suffers from poor fundamentals, and that is the strength of Ramczyk’s game. This selection also allows Big Blue to build needed depth at the position. Ramczyk is not the perfect choice, as there are questions about his NFL readiness and health that have to be answered. On the positive side, the Houston Chronicle reported that Ramczyk met with the Houston Texans staff recently and that his surgically repaired hip checked out well. Of the other tackle options, Cam Robinson (Alabama) has a skill set similar to Flowers, while Garrett Bolles (Utah) may not be stout enough to endure the rigors of the position. Ramczyk has solid footwork and agility, so his selection will upgrade the offensive line for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations.. OT. Wisconsin. Ryan Ramczyk. 23. player
