2. player. 28. Khalil Mack has become a superstar pass rusher in the NFL. No doubt Raiders fans should feel ecstatic about that. Even so the team still has an obligation to bring in more help for him up front. Preferably somebody at defensive tackle who can create pressure up the middle, pulling blockers away from the edges. Thus far their attempts at this haven’t met with much success. Perhaps it’s time to get a little more serious on the subject. Hence the high draft choice.
The Michigan defensive front was a core strength for the Wolverines in 2016, and Chris Wormley was at that center of it. Though listed as a defensive end, his size and dimensions scream defensive tackle at the next level. He’s got length and athleticism along with a good motor for staying after the rush. His one drawback to date is polish. He still hasn’t quite learned out to use his hands properly. As that improves, his effectiveness as an interior pass rusher increases.
. DT. Michigan.
