9. Cincinnati Bengals

56. The Cincinnati Bengals run a 4-3 defense. They’ve done this for the entirety of the era Marvin Lewis has been the head coach. The 4-3 scheme is simple in its effectiveness. By far the biggest key is boasting a front four defensive line that is loaded with dynamic players. When they are able to control the line of scrimmage, the remaining seven players are free to drop in coverage, making life difficult on quarterbacks.
They have Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap in place but the Bengals front isn’t quite at elite territory yet. Finding another edge rusher who will force blockers to adjust is a major key. Derek Barnett is just what they’re looking for. The Tennessee defensive end was a monster in the SEC for three years, breaking his school record with 33 sacks. That’s more than Reggie White had. He a naturally gifted pass rusher who does his entire job well.
. DE. Tennessee. Derek Barnett . 9. player
