Atlanta Falcons Extend Ryan Schraeder for Five Years
Falcons offensive tackle Ryan Schraeder has signed a long-term deal
Atlanta’s offense has seen an impressive amount of improvement this season, and much of that can be attributed to the offensive line. Center Alex Mack may be the best free agent signing of the offseason, and the Falcons are making sure Matt Ryan is well protected for many years to come.
Offensive tackle Ryan Schraeder has received a five-year extension worth a maximum of $33 million.
Pro Football Focus currently ranks Atlanta’s offensive line as the seventh-best in the NFL, and Schraeder has been a large part of that.

Atlanta signed Schraeder as an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State in 2013, and made him the full-time starter in his second year. Schraeder is just one of five players to come out of Valdosta State to play in the NFL.
Last season Schraeder started all 16 games for Atlanta, and has started all 10 games this season.
Schraeder’s new contract will make him the third-highest paid right tackle in the NFL behind only Lane Johnson and Bryan Bulaga.
Atlanta now has three of their starting offensive linemen signed to long-term deals, but will have to address one of the guard positions going forward. Chris Chester has entered the final year of his deal, as is the majority of their depth.
The Falcons will host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday coming off their bye week after a loss in Philadelphia.
