Even though the Houston Texans still have a winning record, many have begun to fear the collapse is right around the corner, with one man being the cause.

The loss of J.J. Watt was bad enough, but hopes were high that Brock Osweiler would continue to grow under the tutelage of head coach Bill O’Brien. Soon the Texans offense could flourish with its bevy of weapons and take some of the pressure off a banged up defense. Instead the former Denver Broncos backup has looked just like one most of the year.

Through seven games Osweiler has thrown for over 1,500 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. He’s only completing 58% of his passes and most of them aren’t going very far. His efficiency is among the worst in the league and it’s clear he suffers from a lack of accuracy and poise within the pocket. His first season is barely half over and some fans can already see the writing on the wall.

In fact one of them decided to take matters into his own hands by starting a GoFundMe campaign to help pay off the rest of Osweiler’s contract.

"“I am a die hard Texans fan and we need to get rid of Brock Osweiler or we’re not going anywhere. He is a waste of 72 million and for a dollar a day we can get him out and make DeAndre Hopkins happy.”"

Seeing just how ineffective Brock Osweiler was against teams like Denver and New England despite his solid weaponry is beyond troubling. It offers the biggest evidence yet why he was never able to completely overcome a hobbled Peyton Manning last year. For all his size, mobility and impressive arm talent he just doesn’t have a true “feel” for the position.

Of course this fan campaign won’t solve the money problem but it’s clear he’s wearing out his welcome at a record pace. Unless he can put together some good games before the end of the season, don’t be surprised if he’s pulled in favor of backup Tom Savage. Bill O’Brien has never feared going with the bold moves when required.
