In order to get a close dissection and prediction for this matchup, there are a few individual matchups within the contest to focus on. Peters for the Chiefs going up against Cooks will be closely monitor. As will Brees looking to make plays against the solid Chiefs secondary.

More from NFL Mocks

The most important matchup of the entire game is the Saints offense against the Chiefs defense. A defense that is missing their best pass rusher, which of course would be extremely important an offense such as the Saints that is pass-heavy.

The Saints defense on the other hand is poor and the combination of Maclin, Kelce, Ware, and receiver Chris Conley will be expected to have a field day on New Orleans. Having Charles in the lineup will make things even worse for the Saints but for now, the versatile back is questionable in this contest because of his knee issues.

Brees and company will make a few plays on their own and with the Chiefs defense ranking 24th against the run, we may even see an effective run game from the Saints. However, at this point, the Chiefs defense is a little more reliable of the two and in a showdown that will see a nice amount of points, Kansas City’s defense is capable of making just the right amount of plays to squeeze out a win.

Prediction: Kansas City, 38-28
