Jeff Fisher is normally not a head coach who gets too fired up about what people say in the media, unless it’s another head coach talking about his team.

Safe to say he wasn’t happy after a loss to the Arizona Cardinals in 2014. Despite a phenomenal defensive effort, the Rams lost 12-6 at home. That was bad enough. However, it was made far worse when Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians rubbed salt in the wound with his post game comments. When reporters asked him about how his team was able to pull off the win despite so many key injuries, the he coach couldn’t help taking a shot at his defeated opponent.

"“I love it when nobody says that you will have a chance to win. There is an 11-3 team, and a team that is always 8-8. You figure it out.”"

Fisher heard that comment and apparently never forgot it. His Rams are now 2-1 against the Cardinals since Arians made it. To make it even better, at least from L.A.’s perspective is what their head coach had to say after they sent Arizona careening home at 1-3 with a 17-13 defeat. He couldn’t wait to rub it in a little bit extra just like Arians did two year ago.

Josh Weinfuss of ESPN elaborate on the subject.

"“I told them, ‘This was [the Cardinals’] Christmas present. We see them after Christmas [when the Rams host the Cardinals on January 1 at the L.A. Coliseum]. This was their Christmas present. We just gave it to them early, OK?’” Fisher told NFL.com.Fisher is typically reserved when it comes to trash talking opposing coaches or teams, but he couldn’t hold back anymore.“Go back and see all the s— Bruce said against us a couple of years ago.”"

Safe to say even after all this time that Jeff Fisher is still salty about that. It also does something even better. It stokes the rivalry even further. One can only hope the Cardinals can turn things around and get it going the rest of the year. That would make the New Years showdown on January 1st must-see TV for anybody who likes the game of football.
