Prediction

A game between two teams that are definite playoff contenders. This type of matchup can very well place the spotlight on the little facets of the game. Keep a close eye on the special teams in this matchup as the Chiefs are fourth in the league in kick return average (26.3) and first in the league in kick returns of 20+ yards with six.

The most interesting matchup between the two teams will come down to the fifth ranked rushing offense by the Jets against the Chiefs 30th ranked run defense. Forte gives the Jets an aspect to their offense that establishes balance. His ability to pick up rushing yards takes the attention off Marshall/Decker which is exactly what the Jets prefer.

If the Chiefs are to make this a four-quarter game, third down conversions will have to be in favor of their offense. The Jets are sixth in the league in opposing third down conversions as they allow only 29%.

The dynamic of having a running back like Forte takes the Jets offense to a higher level and that has been evident so far this season. Expect a physical matchup between two veteran-led teams that may come down to the last possession or two.

Prediction: Jets, 27-21
