Donte Moncrief to Miss Multiple Games with Shoulder Injury
After a 0-2 start to their season, the Indianapolis Colts received devastating news regarding one of their best playmakers
As if the Colts season didn’t already step off on the wrong foot, now they’re losing a large piece to their offense.
Head coach Chuck Pagano confirmed in his press conference Wednesday that wide receiver Donte Moncrief suffered a fractured scapula.
Moncrief will not need surgery, but will be on the shelf for the next four to six weeks.
A six week return would have Moncrief available for the Kansas City Chiefs game on October 30. Unfortunately, Indianapolis does not have a bye week until week ten.

Wide receiver Devin Street was signed off of the New England Patriots practice squad to fill Moncrief’s spot.
Luckily for the Indianapolis Colts, depth at wide receiver is not an overly major concern. T.Y. Hilton continues to lead the pack, with first round pick Philip Dorsett following his lead. Tight ends Dwayne Allen and Jack Doyle have also contributed in the receiving game.
Moncrief was a third round pick by the Colts in 2014 out of Mississippi, and had a breakout sophomore year in Indy. In 16 games he recorded six touchdowns and over 700 receiving yards.
Thankfully the start of the Colts schedule is relatively easy, with San Diego, Jacksonville, Chicago, Houston, and Tennessee on the docket.
