Season Predictions

The first four games of Maryland’s season are must-wins. They open up against FCS opponent Howard, then take on FIU and UCF. The Terps should win all three of those.

They will then take a bye week before opening up conference play against Purdue. If the Terrapins drop any of those first four games, they’ll be in for a long season.

From that point on, the schedule gets difficult. They head to State College to take on Penn State, a game that could set the tone for the next few weeks.

A match-up with Michigan State, Michigan and Ohio State, plus a game against cross-divisional opponent Nebraska, will prove to be the toughest games on the schedule.

Maryland closes out against Rutgers, a game that the Terps should win.

It won’t be as bad as last season, but expect some growing pains in D.J. Durkin’s first season.

Prediction: 5-7 (2-7 in conference)
