Tennessee Titans rookie Derrick Henry looking great
The Tennessee Titans have to be excited about their young backfield, now featuring Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry who is showing out in preseason…
The Tennessee Titans have an exciting young backfield featuring two Heisman Trophy winners, and Derrick Henry is silencing the doubters this preseason with some very fine play.
The reviews for Henry have been glowing, which is extremely satisfying after we were all nearly force-fed so many hot takes regarding a great player all offseason.
Henry has proven in his collegiate career that he’s more than simply a product of a great system, which in a way he was. He’s proven that he’s an elite talent at the position, and a phenomenal athlete who can do things that most people his size cannot do.

Case-in-point, watch the GIF from our old pal Terry Lambert, and you’ll see the type of body contortion/agility that the 240 pound Henry is capable of. He’s just an insane athlete, and so many forgot to take that into account when it came to his professional evaluation.
In my opinion, there’s no way a player of Henry’s caliber should have lasted to the second round, but the Titans got themselves a steal after stealing DeMarco Murray away from the Philadelphia Eagles.
While Marcus Mariota continues to progress, the addition of Henry is going to be huge for this Titans offense. They are going to have a strong running game, and this young player will be a focal point moving forward.
