Cleveland Browns . 32. player. 53. Nobody has any illusions about the Cleveland Browns. This is a team that is starting from scratch. Aside from two or three solid players, most of whom are past their primes, this is a roster of mismatched parts trying to make the engine run. They have a new head coach in Hue Jackson. He was a smart hire and should do well assuming he actually gets a chance from ownership to turn this thing around. Something that hasn’t been true for anybody else in that position.
Then there is the quarterback Robert Griffin III. A failed 1st round pick in Washington who had a great start to his career but has since fallen on hard times. He’s expected to get things going with receivers like Josh Gordon (a rehabilitating weed enthusiast) and Terrell Pryor (a former quarterback). Defensively it’s an even bigger muddle. Outside of Joe Haden at cornerback they have zero star power. Only a bunch of maybes. It’s going to take a herculean effort to get that wagon back on the road.
. .
