5 Things To Look For Before Hall-of-Fame Game
Factor #5: Improvement on Colts offensive line
The Colts have had issues the past few seasons with protecting Luck and opening holes in the running game. The ability to stockpile quality players on the O-line was integral in the static between General Manager Ryan Grigson and Head Coach Chuck Pagano with both struggling to get on the same page due to the two having different strategies in acquiring talent for the team.
This past draft, the Colts took four offensive linemen, which shows that the major injuries suffered by Luck last season rung loud and clear to the front office and coaching staff.
First round pick center Ryan Kelly more than likely will not play due a shoulder issue that the team expect to no longer be an issue as the preseason progresses. Third rounder Le’Raven Clark will provide depth at the very least this season and will be used heavily in the HOF game. The same goes for fifth round tackle Joe Haeg and seventh round center Austin Blythe.
The preseason contest will be a perfect time to insert the talent drafted this season for the Colts offensive line. The skill and depth of the offensive line must improve in order for this team to truly see success.
