Factor #1: Playing time for Luck

As stated in the opening slide, Andrew Luck missed a number of games last season because of devastating injuries. Coincidentally, Luck was having an up-and-down season before the injuries as the offensive line woes that has manifested over the past few seasons truly caught up to the young QB. After just seven games of action for Luck, he already piled up 12 interceptions after totaling 16 picks in the 2014 season, where he started all 16 games.

During this offseason, the Colts rewarded the franchise passer with a six-year contract extension worth $140 million dollars with $87 million of it guaranteed. So now that he’s healthy and has a pocket full of money, it will be interesting to see not only how much he plays in this preseason game, but if his comfort level has been altered during this offseason.

The front office took the time to upgrade Indy’s offensive line this offseason as well as compensating Luck. It’s quite possible that the 2016 season could be his best season to date.
