Injuries are inevitable this time of year, and this time it struck the Cincinnati Bengals. They drafted  cornerback William Jackson III with the 24th pick out of Houston in the 2016 draft, and he will miss at least the next three to four months after suffering a torn pectoral muscle.

This isn’t a backbreaking loss for the Bengals, because they weren’t going to rely on Jackson heavily this year with the likes of former first rounders Dre Kirkpatrick and Darqueze Dennard still around, not to mention Adam Jones.

Here is what the Mocks crew had to say about him in his scouting report:

"“Overall, William Jackson III is a starting cornerback in a Cover 2 defense in which he can win with his awareness, ball skills and ability to stuff the run. He’s not a CB who should be left on an island as a result of his struggles against double moves.”"

Jackson figured to see time this year, and many believed he could push for a starting job. However, since it’s his rookie season it’s hard to believe he’d be one of their top corners off the bat. He’s a tall cornerback who allowed only 40% of passes to be completed on him in college.

At Houston Jackson was a second team all conference corner with five interceptions, and led the nation in pass breakups. Many, including Pro Football Focus, believe Jackson could be the best cornerback from this year’s draft.
