College Football Preview: 2016 Missouri Tigers
2015 Season Recap
With no intentions to harp heavily on the negative, the Tigers were absolutely atrocious on offense last season. Ranking dead last in the SEC in scoring offense with 13.6 points per game. That same average placed the Tigers with the ranking of 126th out of 128 teams. With 280.9 yards per game, Missouri was 124th in the country in total offense. Luckily for the offense, the Tigers were second in the SEC and sixth in the country in total defense, allowing only 302.0 yards per game and fifth in the country in scoring defense allowing 16.2 points per game.
Quarterback Drew Lock led the team in passing as he threw for 1,332 yards, four touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Lock became the permanent starter in early October after the original starter, Maty Mauk, was suspended indefinitely. Mauk passed for 654 yards and six touchdowns before his suspension and was steady as the starter, guiding the team to a 3-1 start. Mauk is now at Eastern Kentucky and Lock is now the man with the plan for the Tigers offense.

The Tigers suffered their first defeat at the hands of the Kentucky Wildcats and after a 24-10 victory over South Carolina, the team lost four straight to Florida, Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State before getting an emotional victory at a neutral site against the BYU Cougars to even their record at 5-5. Losses to Tennessee and Arkansas left the Tigers at 5-7 on the season.
