Cowboys Are In Good Hands Should Ezekiel Elliott Be Suspended
Regardless if Ezekiel Elliott is slapped with a suspension in the near future or not, the Cowboys’ faithful can rest easy knowing their offense is in good hands.
Few are in hotter water right now than Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys.
In fact, an ex-girlfriend accusing you of domestic violence by posting graphic photographs on social media for the world to see is just about as hot of water as you can find.
Especially in today’s NFL, which takes cases such as Elliott’s more serious than ever before.
Regardless, reports have surfaced from the 21-year-old running back’s camp indicating that he’s being set up by said ex-girlfriend, so it’s very possible that Elliott is completely innocent.
At this point, it’s all simply speculation, and the truth will come to light soon enough.
For this moment in time, though, just this moment, let’s assume that Elliott is found guilty by commissioner Roger Goodell and Co., and is suspended for roughly four games or so.
A crushing blow to the Cowboys, no doubt, as the career of their 2016 No. 4 overall selection out of Ohio State gets off to an absolutely horrible start.

This also becomes the latest in a string of suspensions that includes Randy Gregory (four games), DeMarcus Lawrence (four), and Rolando McClain (ten), not to mention the mess that was made by troubled ex-Cowboy Greg Hardy.
With Elliott gone for some odd amount of time, the team is left to pick up the pieces.
No. Problem.
Make no mistake: Dallas is in good hands with or without their star rookie in the lineup.
Barring any major injuries, one of the best offense’s in the league will take the field come September. With a healthy Tony Romo under center, the top offensive line in the game, and a trio of playmaking pass-catchers in Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams, and Jason Witten, the Cowboys are loaded for bear.
And of course you can’t forget Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris, two veteran castoffs that’ll be relied upon to produce on the ground.
After a slow start to his debut year in Dallas, McFadden came alive midseason. He ran hard and revived a lifeless career in the Lone Star State, finishing with over 1,000 rushing yards for the only the second time out of his eight seasons as a pro.
Heading into Year Two as a Cowboy, McFadden will look to come close to that number, although, breaking his elbow about two months ago doesn’t help matters.
The second part to Dallas’ ragtag attack is a three-time 1,000-yard rusher in Morris. He signed with The Boys after spending four seasons with Washington, his last being the worst of them when he compiled just 806 total yards.
In life, you have to play with the cards you’re dealt, something the Cowboys are being taught a harsh lesson in this summer.
Despite not reaching quadruple rushing digits for the first time in Morris’ career, he still displayed flashes of fonder years whilst splitting carries with two other backs. Whether the workhorse we saw in Washington from 2012-2014 shows himself again remains to be seen.
Other than McFadden and Morris, scat-back Lance Dunbar is an explosive receiving threat out of the backfield and is hoping for a nice comeback campaign following season-ending knee surgery in 2015.
While Dallas might be in a jam on the other side of the ball, their offense is primed for an immediate return to the NFL’s elite. A suspension to their first-round pick doesn’t do the team any favors, but they’re prepared to work around it all the same
