College Football Preview: Baylor Bears
Departed Players
Baylor lost some considerable talent to graduation and the 2016 NFL Draft as well as few names to transferred due to the investigation. Wide receiver Corey Coleman entered the draft and was taken 15th overall by the Cleveland Browns. His collegiate teammate, OL Spencer Drango, also was taken by the Browns in the fifth round. The defense suffered a few losses as well with the biggest loss being defensive tackle Andrew Billings who was the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year as well as first team All-Big 12. Billings was selected in the fourth round by the Cincinnati Bengals.
As far as transfers go, Stidham bowed out as he transferred to the junior college field and third string QB Chris Johnson traded in his Baylor helmet for a spot on the Houston Cougars in which he will still have two years of eligibility. Recruits have waved goodbye as well with four-star recruits Devin Duvernay and offensive linemen J.P Urquidez and Patrick Hudson heading elsewhere along with two other 2017 recruits as well.
