Coaching Staff

Interestingly, the only change in the entire coaching staff is the exit of Art Briles and the insertion of former Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe. Grobe is highly respected around the entire scope of college football but the acting head coach hasn’t really been a dependable source for winning results at his stops. In 19 seasons at the University of Ohio and Wake Forest, Grobe has only produced six seasons of seven or more wins. An overall record of 110-115-1. He has his work cut out for him as a takes over a program on pretty much an interim basis. Along with trying to win games on the field, Grobe will have to steer the ship through a nasty NCAA investigation.

He has assistants that current players are in a comfort zone with in Kendal Briles as the Offensive Coordinator and Phil Bennett as the Defensive Coordinator. Other key faces such as Jeff Lebby who has a vital role as an assistant coach and recruiter returns as well. It will be interesting to see how this coaching staff plays itself out in the coming months with the investigation swirling.
