Ex-Arkansas running back, and recent Buffalo Bills fifth-round pick Jonathan Williams was arrested for driving while intoxicated early this morning.

The arrest was documented at 3:20 a.m. in Washington County, Arkansas .

Williams was released from jail on Thursday after paying a $765 bond. His court hearing for the incident is scheduled for Friday according to the Washington County Sherriff’s Office. Police stated Williams had red, watery eyes and was slurring his words when they pulled him over.

Williams played his college ball at Arkansas under Bret Bielema, and was one of the two workhorse backs on the roster. He compiled 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns his junior year, and declared to return. He didn’t play a down his senior year thanks to a foot injury.

After graduating he was taken in the fifth-round by Buffalo, with whom he will be fighting for a roster spot with. The Bills already employ Pro-Bowler, LeSean McCoy, second year back Karlos Williams, and Mike Gillislee, so Williams’ fight for playing time is difficult.

That battle may have just gotten a lot harder with a DWI on his record before training camp begins. Ironically, this comes just one day after Bret Bielema bragged about few of his former players getting arrested during his time in Fayetteville.
