Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy will not be charged following a brawl at a Philadelphia nightclub

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office has decided not to charge former Philadelphia Eagle and current Buffalo Bill LeSean McCoy following a late-night brawl at a Philadelphia nightclub. A fight, which was allegedly over a $350 bottle of champagne, led to two off-duty police officers being sent to the hospital. One officer reportedly suffered a broken nose and rib.

Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News first broke the story that McCoy would not face any charges from the Pennsylvania Attorney General.

In April, the Philadelphia District Attorney announced they would not seek charges against the running back, citing inconclusive evidence that McCoy was to blame for any of the physical harm invoked during the February 7 incident.

More from NFL Mocks

LeSean McCoy was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He spent six years in Philadelphia prior to being traded by Chip Kelly to Buffalo after the 2014 NFL season for linebacker Kiko Alonso.

Philadelphia traded Alonso to the Miami Dolphins along with Byron Maxwell and their first round pick to move up in last springs’ NFL Draft. That pick was eventually sent to Cleveland in exchange for the number two overall pick, which was ultimately North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz.

McCoy is the Eagles franchise-leader in career rushing yards with 6,792 and ranks third overall in rushing touchdowns with 44. He made three Pro Bowls with the Eagles, and one last season under Rex Ryan in Buffalo. In 2011, McCoy led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns, and 20 total offensive touchdowns.

Injuries prevented LeSean McCoy from playing in four games for Buffalo, giving way to former Florida State star Karlos Williams.

Roger Goodell has not announced whether or not McCoy could miss time due to violation of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Should McCoy be suspended during the 2016 season, Karlos Williams would be inserted as the starter for Rex Ryan.
