Cris Carter’s Son Makes Big Catch in CFL, Ejected for Fight
Cris Carter was always known to be a dynamic wide receiver in the NFL with a side of hotshot in him. Apparently, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Duron Carter is a starting wide receiver for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. The former Ohio State Buckeye is also the son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter, who played in the NFL for 16 seasons.
In the Alouettes’ 28-13 loss to the Ottawa Redblacks Thursday night, Carter made an incredible touchdown grab in the endzone, holding onto the ball despite being sandwiched between two defensive backs.
After taking the vicious hit, Carter proceeded to strut along the Ottawa sideline, and walk into the opposing coach. He kept on walking until he reached the back of the sideline, despite being shoved by multiple Redblack players.
Teammates of Carter came to his aid, resulting in some old fashion pushing and shoving.

Carter would be ejected from the game for his actions, and sent off into the locker room.
Now what might have been the reason for Carter’s actions was the result of being hit extremely hard after making that fantastic catch. While it was not reported that he suffered any kind of concussion or head injury, he could have had his “bell rung” and not be completely aware that he was walking onto the wrong side of the field.
That is giving him 100%, benefit of the doubt.
Carter started his career at Ohio State, but left after being ruled academically ineligible. After spending a season in junior college, Carter went to Alabama, but academic issues plagued him once again. One final attempt to play at Florida Atlantic went without success, and Carter became an undrafted free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft.
He spent two seasons with Montreal before being signed by the Indianapolis Colts. He was cut after the 2015 preseason, and was left to return to Montreal.
Carter had three catches prior to scoring his teams’ only touchdown of the evening.
Interestingly, former Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. is a member of the Alouettes, although he did not see any action Thursday night. He is currently listed as the third-string quarterback.
