Cameron Sutton (CB, Tennessee)

Beyond 4th round pick Deiondre Hall, the Bears largely maintained the status quo at the cornerback position.  Kyle Fuller and Tracy Porter look like their two primary starters with Bryce Callahan the early favorite to take over at the nickel position.  It seems the team believes that trio can be productive for them if only the front seven were improved, which it has been.  Thus the 2016 season will help to answer that question.

Even so, it’s important to note that Porter is into his 30s now and has a long history of dealing with injury problems.  There is no guarantee he’s a long-term answer and given the importance of dependable corners in a 3-4 system, grabbing somebody like Cameron Sutton is the smart play.  He fits their system in so many ways.  He’s big (6’1″), athletic enough to hang with receivers and plays a physical brand of football both as a tackler and hitter.  Just the kind of guy John Fox and Vic Fangio like.
