The Jacksonville Jaguars an stuck in the middle of Bill Murray’s Groundhogs Day as news of a potentially major injury struck the teams minicamp for a second straight season.

"Jalen Ramsey sustained a small tear to the meniscus in his right knee during phase two on-field workouts. Ramsey is obtaining a second opinion next week. More information will be available when Head Team Physician Dr. Kevin Kaplan and the Jaguars athletic training staff determine the appropriate medical care."

The news of the first round pick going down with a knee injury comes one year after third overall pick Dante Fowler Jr. tore his ACL during the first day of rookie minicamp. The former Florida Gator  missed his entire rookie season but is expected to take the field for the first time this year.

Jalen Ramsey was the fifth overall pick in last months draft out of Florida State. He was widely considered the most NFL ready prospect despite his slight draft day slide. The defensive back was expected to settle in at the cornerback position for the Jaguars, a position they have been starving to fill with talent.

When looking at various situations comparable to Ramsey, recovery to where a person can return to daily activity can take around six weeks. For an athlete as explosive as Jalen Ramsey, the timetable could be much longer.

Should Ramsey not be available for an extended period of time, veteran Prince Amukamara could step in at the right cornerback position.
