Baltimore Ravens: 2016 NFL Draft Grades
If most fans had their way, many would’ve selected defensive throughout the first three rounds but that’s not Ozzie Newsome operates. Instead he took an undersized corner from Temple who built a name for himself while helping turn the face of school future. Tavon Young was apart of a special turnaround class that helped changed the fate of school’s program in two short seasons. As one of the most competitive corners in this year’s draft, Young created a lot of buzz for himself while playing in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

Young may get knocked for his size but that should be a huge issue with the defender. He shouldn’t demand large amount of playing time in his first season but I do expect him to be used a lot during nickel and dime packages. Young will help upgrade the team’s problem with covering receivers in the slot but most of his work should come through special teams.
Again, Newsome brings in more depth talent but I do think that there were better options available at the time.
