Baltimore Ravens: 2016 NFL Draft Grades
You can never have too many pass-rushers in the NFL. One of the biggest adjustments that the Ravens are going through is the transition from older to younger player on the defensive side of the ball. Remind you that they already have drafted two other pass-rushing linebackers earlier in the draft but that isn’t going to stop Ozzie Newsome from adding more talent on the edge.
Judon was one of the most decorative edge players in this year’s collecting 20 sacks along with 23.5 tackles for loss. With the depth at linebacker depleting for the Ravens, it made sense to make an effort to improve the overall position group in one draft by getting the best scheme fit players. Judon has great length and size to be a standup rusher but he athleticism is something that goes underrated amongst most teams.
In his first season, Judon’s playing time may come in very limited reps but over time I think he will become a valuable passing down weapon that will be in certain situations.
