2016 NFL Draft: Sifting Through Last-Minute Rumors
Rumor: Paxton Lynch is Draft’s Biggest Wildcard
Although Myles Jack has a high ceiling and low floor in terms of his eventual draft slot, Memphis QB Paxton Lynch has an even bigger range. He’s been linked to the San Francisco 49ers at number seven, and he’s also been rumored to potentially fall out of the first round all together. ESPN’s Adam Schefter didn’t exactly say Lynch would fall out of round one, but he did mention it’s hard to find a fit.
While Lynch is probably going to be selected a some point tonight (watch out for the Kansas City Chiefs), the destination will be one of the most intriguing storylines of round one. Don’t assume he’s the third QB off the board either. The Cleveland Browns are rumored to be high on Connor Cook of Michigan State and may take him tonight if they’re able to trade down from number eight.
