Rumor: Myles Jack Falling Like a Rock

Despite being considered a top-five prospect in the draft, Myles Jack’s knee injury is causing his draft stock to fall rapidly. Last night, his stock took another hit as draft insider Tony Pauline reported teams are considering requiring Jack sign an injury waiver.

Jack himself even suggested to the New York Post that microfracture surgery may be in his future. If that’s the case, Jack could fall even further than expected. Just last year Boise State RB Jay Ajayi, a projected second-round pick by some, fell all the way to round five because of a knee injury. The concern was that he would only get through one contract in the NFL.

There are similar concerns with Jack, although the UCLA RB, OLB, SS won’t fall nearly as far. He could go as early as fifth overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but will likely slide out of the top ten if the Jags pass. The New Orleans Saints (12th), Oakland Raiders (14th) and Atlanta Falcons (17th) are all possible landing spots in round one.

Jack’s loss is Leonard Floyd’s gain as the Georgia OLB is now widely believed to be a top-10 lock as teams look for the next best OLB after Jack.
