All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman has decided to sign a lucrative contract to join the Washington Redskins.
Football fans who love bad blood and bitter rivalry just had their day made. This just days after the NFL was stunned to hear his franchise tag had been rescinded by the defending NFC champion Carolina Panthers.

This is a terrific turn of events for the Redskins. Their secondary was one of the weak links on their team in 2015 and it proved to be their undoing in the playoffs against Green Bay. So adding a talent like Norman is a boon for their pass defense and takes a lot of pressure off GM Scot McCloughan to address that position in the 1st round of the draft.
For Norman, he gets the massive payday he wanted and in truth was desperate for. At age 28 this would prove to be his last opportunity to cash in and he wasn’t going to let it pass.
What makes this move so much more interesting than normal is the impact it will have on the NFC East division. Particularly the matchups between the Redskins and the New York Giants. Already a longtime rivalry with plenty of heat, it just got an enormous jolt because this means Norman will be lining up across from Odell Beckham Jr. twice a year.
For those who might not know for somehow forgot, these two had a memorable confrontation that included trash talk, late shots and punches throw when the Panthers visited MetLife Stadium last season. It got so heated and out of control that the NFL league office put forth new rules to vote that would involve players being ejected after two personal foul penalties in order to curb such incidents.
Josh Norman vs. Odell Beckham Jr twice a year now.

One can only imagine how much more vile it could get when these two are playing with a division title at stake. It will be must-see TV for sure.
