Johnny Manziel’s story is well known. Maybe a little too well known. The flashy, dual-threat, Heisman winning, first round pick quarterback has been on the wrong road for some time now.

His partying and alcohol issues have been extensively documented and were red flags even before the Cleveland Browns traded up to selected him with the 22nd overall pick in 2014.

He’s already been cut by the Browns and dumped by his original agent this offseason, and now his current agent is reportedly close to giving Johnny Football the boot.

Mega-agent Drew Rosenhaus took on Manziel after the quarterback as his next big project earlier in the offseason. Wednesday, Roseman indicated that he has essentially given the troubled quarterback an ultimatum: Get help or we’re done.

"“I have terminated the standard representation with Johnny Manziel in the hopes of helping him get the treatment I believe he needs. I have informed him that if he takes the immediate steps I have outlined for him that I will rescind the termination and continue to represent him. Otherwise the termination will become permanent. There is a five-day window for me to rescind the termination. I’m hoping he takes the necessary steps to get his life back on track.”"

ESPN Insider Adam Schefter gave full details on Rosenhaus’s situation with Manziel.

Manziel has been in the news as of late despite not being on a team. He reportedly talked to Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, who is on the prowl for a starting quarterback after losing both Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler early in the offseason.

His roommate situation has also been a bit of a circus. Reports this week were that Manziel was living with Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, which could extend the possible Denver connections. Those reports have since been downplayed, and we are now hearing that the quarterback is living with one of his former teammates (who is currently suspended indefinitely by the NFL) Josh Gordon.

Gordon even picked up Manziel after an alleged hit and run incident over the weekend.

Regardless of who Manziel is living with, Drew Rosenhaus laid down the law and for good reason. Manziel needs help and everyone is saying it: family, former coaches; former NFL players.

No one is going to risk the headache of having the baggage of Johnny Manziel on their team if these issues persist.

Rosenhaus has dealt with several high-profile clients who have had their issues in the league. Terrell Owens is the first that comes to mind. It’s a relieving sight knowing the super-star agent is setting the tone for the oft-battled Johnny Football once and for all.
