After failing to acquire their desired relocation to Los Angeles earlier this offseason, the Oakland Raiders have appeared to officially set their eyes on Sin City.

According to media reports, Raiders owner Mark Davis has officially filed for relocation to Las Vegas. This comes just days after the team reportedly was billed $3.5 million for their one-year lease deal with O.co Coliseum and a training facility, both of which are not in shape to host an NFL team for the long-term future.

The city of Oakland has also failed to approve funding for a new stadium, which would keep the team in the city for the foreseeable future.

"Filed to ESPN: The Oakland Raiders have filed for relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada. Plans are to move there by the 2018 NFL season – @ESPNAdamSchefter"

Davis was heard saying that he’s sick and tired of being at the bottom of the NFL food chain. The implications of moving to Vegas could certainly help them. He is also not happy with Jerry Jones brokering the Los Angeles deal. Jones himself is reportedly looking at some franchise changing moves regarding his place in the organization.

As we learned with the Rams transitioning from St. Louis to Los Angeles, the move is not yet official and could take longer than Mark Davis wants it to.

The implications of moving to Las Vegas provide both great financial implications, but also social questions. The thought of having 53 NFL players living in the Sin City while also having another 53 coming in multiple times a year could certainly lead to more off the field trouble.

The dangers of Las Vegas are well-known, but it seems Mark Davis is set on moving a team that his father helped build into the dynasty fans treasure.
