NFL Combine: Players not competing you’d like to see
With the NFL Combine starting this week, we took a look at some of the players we are most excited to see compete. At the same time, we talked about which players not competing we wish were this week.
Eric: I really wanted to see Treadwell run his 40 at the combine. A Pro Day 40 is iffy for most because we all know that in some cases, the results are fudged.
Check out my instant reaction to Treadwell’s announcement on Periscope below!
Brady: I really wanted to see Myles Jack. His athleticism is well-documented but to see his 40 now rather than on his pro-day would have been beneficial for him.
Rodney: I really wanted to see Treadwell and Coleman run the 40 seeing as they’re the top two receivers on many big boards. Pro Days tend to show faster times so they may actually be doing themselves a favor but they’ll be missed at the combine.
The linebackers Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack are going to be missed. Both suffered major knee injuries and are still rehabbing. Jack is presumably further along in his rehab than Smith considering his injury occurred several months prior. Each are extremely athletic and will be dynamic players in the NFL.
The loss of wide receivers Laquon Treadwell and Corey Coleman for the 40 yard dash will also missed. Treadwell is expected to run the 40 at his Pro Day where the stop watches aren’t electronic and he could show a better time. Coleman is recovering from a sports hernia and will also sit out.
