NFL Combine: Most Exciting Players to Watch For
With the NFL Combine starting to ramp up this week in Indianapolis, we took a look at some of the prospects our staff is most excited to see compete.
Eric: Who I am looking forward to his Darian Thompson and Keanu Neal. Two safeties who are two of my favorite players overall and I think both can springboard themselves into the discussion as two of the better safeties not named Jalen Ramsey
Brady: Can’t wait to see all defensive tackles. If I had to choose, I’d have to say I’m looking forward to seeing Andrew Billings. He is the biggest candidate to break the bench press record and could put on quite a show. A good performance could see his 1st round stock solidified.
Rodney: I’m looking forward to my top three running backs in Ezekiel Elliott, Alex Collins and Derrick Henry. Specifically in the 40, 3 cone and receiving drills. I expect Elliott to be the top performer of the three but am curious about Collins in the 40 and Henry in the 3 cone.
I agree with all of these guys. I think Jalen Ramsey is going to dominate the NFL Combine and solidify himself as a top five pick at worst. Darian Thompson is a guy who is floated around as a sleeper this year and a solid performance this weekend could really put his name on the map.
I’d like to see what Josh Doctson runs during the 40 yard dash. I think he’s going to be faster than people think and prove he’s worth an early pick.
With the quarterbacks, there are a lot of guys to watch. Can Christian Hackenberg wow with his strong arm; can Connor Cook prove he’s more than just average; can a guy like Jeff Driskel or Vernon Adams make a name for themselves?
It’s certainly an exciting time knowing the NFL Draft is getting closer and closer.
