Noted Teams Missing From the Top 25: UCLA, Memphis, Georgia, Wisconsin, Western Kentucky (#25 in AP Poll)

Considering only one team from the AP’s top four (Alabama) and only one other team in the top 10 (Michigan State at five), this year certainly didn’t go as many expected. The fall of National Champions Ohio State and the demise of the Big 12 late in the year paved a much different road than many imagined this year. Oklahoma and Stanford entered that poll near the bottom of the top 25 and Iowa received zero votes. Now, Iowa will be taking its first trip to Pasadena in nearly 25 years.

Teams such as Memphis, Utah, Houston, and Temple seemingly came out of no where. USC had coaching difficulties from day one. Northwestern had their annual early season magic/late season demise.

Now comes the College Football Playoffs. And after that…
