It’s that time! Time for Week 13 of the 2015 NFL Season as the Giants and Jets to battle it out on their shared home field, MetLife Stadium. This year has been a very up and down year for both of these teams. There has been many headlines surrounding both of these teams. Let’s start with the Jets.

Oh the New York Jets. It was my Grandmother who taught me football first, and while being a Giants fan she always said to have a soft spot for the Jets, being another New York team. Having said that, during the Rex Ryan years is was very hard for me to do that, but now he is gone and I can support them once again. This year is no different.

They made many changes this year, finally changes I agree with. Ryan Fitzpatrick was coming off the best year of his career, and no one noticed. Brandon Marshall got to pair up with Eric Decker. Chris Ivory now has a passing game to open up running lanes for his violent and punishing running style. And finally, a revamped offensive line that has been fantastic this year.

Do I really need to talk about the defense? This defense has always been a force, and now they added the return of Revis Island. Yes, he is slightly banged up at the moment but still, a beast nonetheless. They have had a very good year so far, and their losses have all been very close games. Fitzpatrick to Marshall is becoming a regular thing every week, and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.

Now for my Giants. I am learning new emotions every week by watching them. We go from blowing fourth quarter leads to blowing teams out, to being part of “The Day Defense Died”, to blowing the lead against the undefeated Patriots, so getting crushed by the Redskins?! Okay, the score doesn’t show a blowout to the Redskins, but trust me, they looked like crap.

Odell Beckham is still Odell Beckham. There is no stopping this young man. There is no answer. All you can do is hope to slow him down and limit the damage that he will surely cause your defense and defensive coordinator. Right now, that is essentially all the Giants have going.

The run game is virtually non-existent. Rashad Jennings has been almost useless this year, Andre Williams looks like he has not progressed one bit this year, and Shane Vareen has not been getting the usage he should. The offensive line is in shambles…..again.

Do I need to talk about the defense? Yes, we know its awful right now. But the biggest bright spot has got to be Eli Manning. He is keeping the team alive almost single-handed, with a 23:9 touchdown to interception ratio right now and a 63% completion percentage on 3,021 yards through only 11 games.

Last week against the Redskins he threw three interceptions early in the game (meaning he only had 6 interceptions going into that game) and still found a way to come back and nearly win the game in the fourth quarter. As sad as that is, it is the only major bright spot on this continuously disappointing Giants team.

What do I expect in this game? I expect Eli to air it out. A lot. To Odell Beckham. A lot. It may not always work, but that will be the game plan in this one.

I expect the Jets to let Chris Ivory loose, because when that happens, they tend to win.

In the end, my prediction is New York Jets 31 – New York Giants 26
